Hello let me welcome you to myXmasHouse.com This new site, which opened this year is specifically designed to let you display your house lighted and decorated for Christmas. Hopefully many visitors will come from all over the world and admire your house and along the way you might even win a prize. So now that you have a bare idea about the site you can now start designing this year's decorations for your house and when the lights are turned on get your camera, take a picture and show it to us.

Registration

Registration is now open for 2007 contest. Register now and keep your free membership for ever. Once registered you are entitled to participate in the contest and to win prizes. Participation on a contest is optional and is not a requirement for using the website. If you wish to participate you must chose at least one category to participate. Participants can enter up to four properties; You can add your home and your grandparent's too so they can participate also if they are not used to work with computers.

If you don't want to participate in the contest you can use the website to show your house decoration to your family, friends or to people around the world.

Registration closes December 23th at 12:00 AM. After that time and date no more uploads will be allowed for 2007 contest (uploads are still allowed for display only).

Categories

There are three categories available. Participation in any of them is optional. Each member can opt to enable the house to participate in one or in the three. The categories are: Local, National and Worldwide.
In the Worldwide category the house competes with others from all over the world. In the National category the house competes with others from the same country. Finally in the local category the house competes against houses of the same city/county.

To be included in any category the member selects it on the account's home control panel however to be considered for entering in the Worldwide category the house must have collected a certain amount of votes from the Local category. There are no special requirements for the National category at this time but a property winning the National automatically is the winner on the Local category unless it was selected no to participate in that one.

Judging

Votes are collected online from December 1st to January 20th. Each visitor can vote only once for the house they like. Voting is entered in the form of a numerical value ranging from 1 to 10. Values are added and a total is reached by the average value. Visitors must register to be able to vote.

The five houses with higher points from every category will be a finalist. Final winner is selected by votes collected from registered judges. If you would like, you can apply for a chance to be elected an appointed judge. Everyone can apply but not everyone will be appointed.
